What is a Dental Implant?
Dental implants are artificial tooth replacements that function much like natural teeth. Once the implant, a titanium steel post, has been surgically placed into the jaw bone and begins to heal, it will be topped with an artificial tooth to complete the dental implant procedure.
These artificial teeth should match to the rest of your teeth closely and are similar in strength and durability to natural teeth. They can last a lifetime if cared for properly.
Dr. Seddon, trained in oral implants, holds positions as a Diplomate with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and Associate Fellow with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He completed the final phase of his diploma process with the American Board of Oral Implantology in 2017.
Why Replace Missing Teeth?
If a tooth is missing, the teeth around it may begin to shift out of place and cause misalignment issues. The jaw bone surrounding the area may also deteriorate, resulting in facial collapse or impairing your ability to eat and speak.
