Teeth-in-a-Day, All-on-4 Dental Implants

If you have existing dentures or perhaps your teeth are failing and may soon be lost, teeth-in-a-day may be for you. This process involves removing teeth (if any are present) and placing 4-8 implants to secure a denture for immediate use – all in the same day. Obviously, this can be a very involved procedure, taking several hours, but when it can all be done in a day, the benefits can be life-changing.

All-on-4 Implants Procedure

Prior to the big day, Dr. Seddon, General Dentist, will fabricate assess the esthetics of the face and the smile and construct a brand new denture that will be used as the denture on the day of surgery. This will involve some photos, measurements, and impressions to get the teeth in the most ideal position.

On the day of surgery, patients may elect to come in for sedation prior to the appt and also to do the PRF procedure to collect healing factors for the surgery. We once again go over post-operative instructions and give pre-medication, which usually consists of antibiotics, painkillers, and anti-inflammatories. Patients are then given anesthetic so that they feel absolutely no discomfort during the procedure. Then Dr. Seddon, General Dentist, will remove the teeth, prepare the bone, place implants, and then place stitches all around each of the implants for patient comfort. Once the tissues are closed, we will then start the denture fixation process with our in-house lab technician by taking some impressions and then refitting the denture to secure it to the implants. By the time we are completed, the patient will walk out with a beautiful smile that doesn’t move and cannot be taken out!

We have found that this can be an incredible process for patients where they have been dealing with a denture all their lives and then finally they can live in a world where it feels almost like they have their original teeth again or perhaps even a better version with a more beautiful smile.

Dr. Seddon, General Dentist, has trained in implant dentistry all over the world, learning from experts in the field. He is a diplomate with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and an associate fellow with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He has trained at both the Misch Implant Institute under the guidance of Dr. Carl Misch and the esteemed AAID maxi-course.
